DECREASE MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION ERRORS
DECREASE MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION ERRORS
In March, 2017, the World Health Organization “launched a global initiative to reduce severe, avoidable medication-associated harm in all countries by 50% over the next 5 years.” http://www.who.int/mediacentre/news/releases/2017/medication-related-errors/en/
Would you like take part in that mission?
Is medication safety important to your organization? Is it important to you?
If you believe that hard to read medication labels are increasing risk for medication errors,
then it's time to speak up and do something about it!
PI and Quality projects can be a lot of work but a MagniMed project can be as simple as 1-2-3-4! Take a look…
1. Evaluate your unit or hospital and see if small print is causing problems for nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacy, physicians. We have a survey you are welcome to use!
2. Implement our lighted magnification solutions.
3. Re-evaluate to determine that having the lighted magnification where ISMP* recommends improves the environment of safety in your health care setting. (Can your health care team more easily read those ridiculous drug labels, fine markings on syringes, and difficult to read markings on medication cups?) https://www.ismp.org/newsletters/acutecare/showarticle.aspx?id=1130
4. Sit back and smile, knowing you made a difference!
And, if you’re looking for a Research Project about the impact medication labels have on medication administration safety
and how light and magnification reduces that risk, we can help you with that too. Give us a call!
